Dear Mann Scholars Family,
As we transition into the summer months, enjoying sunshine and fresh air, we come to you with a transition of another kind. Some of you may already be aware, as we have shared with many on a more intimate level. . .After 22 years of dedicated service to the Mann Scholars Program, Amy Wallace, program coordinator, is closing out her chapter with our program, effective June 30.
We always knew we couldn’t keep her forever. She shared years ago that once her youngest daughter of three graduated from high school, she would make her move, exploring new opportunities for growth and change.
Amy’s compelling connections with students and families have led to beautiful contributions to the vision, mission, and values of the Mann Educational Opportunity Fund, established nearly 30 years ago to honor the late Bernard and Kathlyn Mann, whose advocacy around education equity for students of color inspired so many. The Mann Scholars Program today boasts a 100% graduation rate over 25 years of programming. Job well done Amy!
We are also excited about the way ahead and the many opportunities to build upon the success already achieved. We are blessed to be in partnership with a “small but mighty” Board of Directors, and a host of generous donors (of all amounts, big and small) and will be conducting a search to address staffing needs for a seamless transition. Be on the lookout for more communication as we lead into the fall semester.
In the meantime, if you have questions or wish to discuss opportunities for the way ahead, please don’t hesitate to reach out to either of us at our contact information below.
We wish Amy well.
