Mann Educational Opportunity Fund (Mann Fund) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide mentoring support and educational tools primarily students from the Madison Metropolitan School District who show potential for academic achievement, but face significant economic and personal challenges in reaching their full potential.
Honoring the late Bernard and Kathlyn Mann, long-time Madison residents who were strong advocates for students of color in the public schools, Mann Fund believes that every scholar deserves the support required to not only graduate high school, but to ensure they are responsible, creative, and contributing members of society.
I AM A MANN SCHOLAR
The Mann Scholar program, is an Madison Community Foundation endowed program of Mann Fund that provides guidance, support, and manages the level of support each scholar receives for educational expenses that pose a barrier to educational success.
Each year in the spring, each Madison public middle school nominates one eighth grade student to be considered for the Mann Selection Process. Each nominee and their family is interviewed by a selection committee and three to five students are selected to participate during their four years of high school.

Mann Fund holds an endowment at Madison Community Foundation. Funds donated to MCF allows us to hire staff & provide scholarships to our scholars. If you would like to donate to our endowment, please follow the link below
Donating directly to us helps provide other supports to our scholars and supports the programmatic needs, such as but not limited to, providing transportation for our scholars to attend volunteer and other program opportunities.
There are several impactful ways to contribute to the Mann Fund including: IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution, Life Insurance Real Estate Retirement, Plan Beneficiary Designation, Charitable Gift, Annuities Bequest in a Will, etc.
